About Edo ya
Blacksburg's Premier Japanese Culinary Destination
Our Story
Edo ya has grown into a beloved destination for authentic Japanese cuisine—now proudly expanding to Blacksburg, VA in 2025.
Our Blacksburg location continues the Edo ya tradition of honoring the spirit of the Edo period (1603–1868), a transformative era when Japanese culinary techniques, craftsmanship, and flavors were refined into the foundations of modern Japanese cuisine.

Edo ya's culinary team is led by experienced chefs trained in traditional Japanese preparation, bringing years of expertise in sushi craftsmanship, ramen techniques, and meticulous flavor balance. While each chef brings their own background and specialty, they share a commitment to the precision, freshness, and artistry that define Japanese cuisine.
At Edo ya, quality guides everything we do. We source fresh fish from certified sustainable suppliers, prepare our broths using slow, time-honored methods, and use premium rice varieties to ensure every dish reflects authentic Japanese standards.
